Star Power Scholarship for Alumni

Girls on the Run Philadelphia is excited to announce the inaugural Girls on the Run Philadelphia Star Power Scholarship for Alumni. This award will be given to a Girls on the Run Philadelphia alumnus of distinction who exemplifies the core values and vision of Girls on the Run. This award is in the form of a $2,000 scholarship to be used for continued learning and self-development (e.g. study abroad, technical classes, licensure programs, art courses, college tuition). Girls on the Run Philadelphia welcomes applicants that reflect the diversity of Girls on the Run Philadelphia participants and their many avenues of achievement, while honoring one or more core values of Girls on the Run. GOTR core values include:

  • recognize our power and responsibility to be intentional in our decision making
  • embrace our differences and find strength in our connectedness
  • express joy, optimism and gratitude through our words, thoughts and actions
  • lead with an open heart and assume positive intent
  • nurture our physical, emotional and spiritual health
  • stand up for ourselves and others
     

Qualifications: Must be graduating from high school in Spring 2023 or have already graduated high school. Any individual who participated in at least one season, in either Girls on the Run or Heart & Sole program, with Girls on the Run Philadelphia is eligible. Exceptions include current employees of GOTRP. Financial support of Girls on the Run is not a factor in considerations.

Please read this information carefully before completing this online scholarship application. This application must be completed by the Alum. This application must be filled out completely. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications are due by March 31, 2023. All fields are not required, but the more information you provide, the better for the reviewers. The Application review process will begin on April 1st, with final decisions being made in late April. The review process may include phone calls and additional questions. 

Award recipient will be announced and honored at the conclusion of the review process.


**Recipient will be required to provide proof of eligible expenses within 12 months of receipt of scholarship.
